The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) is expected to be represented at today’s opening of the Essequibo/Pomeroon Football Association (EPFA) football season at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground.
The EPFA is being run by an Interim Management Committee whose Chairman, Walter Joseph, in an invited comment said:”Players are enthusiastic that football is coming back to the area at least in an organised way and I hope that the season opener would bear fruit.”
A march past of the respective teams from the association will occur prior to kick off the scheduled double header.
The teams are Wakapoa FC, Charity FC, Henrietta FC, Queenstown FC and Bush Lot FC.
In the opening game at 14:00hrs, Wakapoa FC will oppose Essequibo B in an exhibition game.
In the feature contest at 16:00hrs East Bank Demerara Football Association’s (EBDFA) Grove Hi-Tech will tackle a combined IMC EPFA team in a Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Premier League Playoff.
