The Guyana Women’s Miners Organisation (GWMO) will this evening hold a church service on the lawns of the Girl Guides Pavilion and they are asking the public to support the event as they attempt to strengthen the work of the organisation.
President of the GWMO Simona Broomes told Stabroek News that it is the first church service the organisation is hosting and that the event is supported by several churches.
She said that during the proceedings officials from the US Embassy in Georgetown and United Nations Development Programme will give addresses along with Pastor Massiah of the First Assembly Church of D’Urban Street.
The event is set to commence at 6 pm.
