Once again, we prove Guyana proves itself, we are the greatest.
The media report that the Crime Chief has determined that they are at a dead end in their investigation into the shooting to death of Vive La Force, West Bank Demerara teen, Ryan Persaud. Again I offer sympathy to the family, since they may not obtain some form of closure at least to know who or how their loved one met his untimely death.
The police tell us that part of the warhead recovered from the body of this child “did not have the required markings” for a comparison ‒ so end of story. Another unsolved matter.
This is the 21st century; we are in a high-tech environment; we hear from the Minister of Home Affairs how much money is given to the police. These answers are not good enough.
Did the police check the likely path or trajectory of the bullet or what they claim are the remains, to see if it was fired from the East Bank of Demerara and not from a boat as they suggest; that is the easy way out. A boat moves, a building is stationary. Bullets from a high-powered rifle can travel one thousand metres and still be lethal. Persons claim that earlier bullets hit their homes; did the police search for warheads?
Did they check the buildings across the river that could be in line with where little Ryan was hit? If not, why not? This is a dead matter.
