Slingerz Football Club, through doubles on either side of halftime from Quason McAuley and Tichard Joseph trounced Bagotville/Nismes 4-0 when action in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Stag Beer senior league continued Sunday.
Contested at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground, McAuley opened the scoring for the Vergenoegen side with a 16th minute strike. Joseph would double the lead for Slingerz when he opened his account with a 39th minute strike.
McAuley would complete his brace as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 68th minute whist Joseph completed the score line with an 86th minute conversion.
In the other encounter, Den Amstel Panthers defeated Seawall FC 3-1. Andre Hector, Travis Hilliman and Orett Stephenson found the back of the net for the winners in the 20th, 48th and 72nd minutes respectively.
Clemente Browne was on target in a losing effort with a 75th minute strike.
On Saturday at the same venue, Young Achievers, led by a second half Keron McPherson brace in the 52nd and 69th minutes crushed Beavers FC 3-0 after Jamal Thomas had opened the scoring for the eventual winners in the 11th minute.
In the second matchup, Eagles FC and Wales FC played to a 1-1 draw. Alexander Clarke opened the scoring for Wales in the 13th minute while Keron Schmidt equalised for Eagles in the 58th minute.
