Two men were yesterday remanded to prison after they were arraigned on robbery with violence charges, while one of the accused faced four additional charges.
The charges read by Magistrate Judy Latchman stated that Nigel Yearwood, 28, and Tyron Paris, 33, both of Barr Street Albouystown, on September 14 at Wellington Street, robbed Siram Harrilall of a TV cell phone valued $15,000 and $30,000. The charge also alleged that the two accused used violence at some point before, during or after the attack. They both pleaded not guilty to the charge. Yearwood, a bus conductor, was also accused of resisting Constable 19766 Boodhnarine and Constable Kevin Hubert while they were performing their duties. He was also charged with unlawfully assaulting Boodhnarine and Hubert, all of which happened on September 14. He pleaded not guilty to all of the additional charges.
