Two young men who share the same address were yesterday bonded to keep the peace after they were granted bail for assaulting each other.
It is alleged that on September 15, at Meadow Brook Gardens, Robin Griffith assaulted Kintia Gobin. On the same day he also allegedly damaged the left front window glass on his car.
Gobin was also charged with assaulting Griffith.
The two appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Judy Latchman. Both pleaded not guilty.
Defence counsel Adrian Thompson who appeared for Griffith requested bail be set in a reasonable amount. Thompson told the court that client resides at the same address as his accuser, 94 A Meadow Brook Gardens and has no previous antecedents.
Gobin was represented by Attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat, who told the court that his client was wounded and all of his wounds were defensive. Griffith, Fung-A-Fat said, attacked his client with an ice pick and used a piece of wood to damage his motor car, after the two had a small misunderstanding.
Police prosecutor Vishnu Hunt did not object to bail.
Gobin was granted bail in the amount of $80,000, while Griffith was placed on $50,000 bail. They were both placed on a bond to keep the peace for the duration of the matter. They will return to court on September 30.
