The health sector’s capacity was yesterday boosted with the graduation of 21 fully certified medical doctors.
Speaking at a ceremony at the Grand Coastal Inn, East Coast Demerara; Minister of Health Dr. Bheri Ramsaran said it was a time to applaud the “Special twenty one” as he described them. “You are the icing on the cake, ” he said. He recognised the contributions of the parents and medical trainers, several of whom were in attendance, for helping to make their success possible.
GINA said those who were successful completed a one-year internship programme under the tutelage of experienced local doctors in Guyana after graduating from the Cuban Medical Programme last year. They completed as many as seven years of medical training in Cuba. (GINA photo)
