The Indian Cultural Centre will this evening screen the film Paa at its Lot 67 New Haven, Bel Air, Georgetown location from 5.30 pm.
According to a press release, this 2009 film directed by R Balakrishnan tells the story of Auro (played by Amitabh Bachchan) a 12-year-old with the rare aging disease progeria. Auro’s mother Vidya (played by Vidya Balan) has been estranged from Auro’s father Amol (played by Abhishek Bachchan). Auro is determined to reunite them before his condition worsens.
Amitabh Bachchan received his third National Film Award for Best Actor and his fifth Filmfare Best Actor Award and Vidya Balan got her first Filmfare Best Actress Award. The music is from acclaimed South Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja. Admission is free.
