National Under-19 all-rounder, Ricardo Adams was yesterday handed a three-month suspension from all cricket by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB).
The suspension went into effect yesterday and prevented Adams from playing against
defending one-day inter-county champions Demerara in yesterday’s opening round of the Pepsi-sponsored limited overs tournament at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground Bourda.
The decision was made by GCB executives yesterday following a debriefing with coach of the national U-19 team, Adrian Amsterdam and the manager, David Black.
Adams, who was allowed to defend himself against the allegations apologized to the board, the coach, and the manager and stated that he would not repeat his mistakes again, a release from the GCB stated.
Adams was reported for serious indiscipline during the Regional U-19 tournament which was held in St Kitts from July 19 – August 21 this year.
The pugnacious left handed batsman will be required to attend professional counselling sessions to help him so that he can return to cricket early next year more focused. The counseling sessions will be facilitated by the GCB, the release stated.
