The second annual F&H Printing Establishment countrywide million dollars plus dominoes competition is set to commence Friday following a launch on Monday at 5pm at the company’s establishment 90 John Street Campbellville.
According to one of the organizers Roderick Harry, the company has concluded negotiations and will commence it’s second annual countrywide million dollars plus competition on September 27 with the commencement of the corporation zone at the F&H Establishment, 90 John Street, Campbellville while the club segment will commence on September 30, 2013 at Dynasty Sports Club, Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt.
According to a press release, Hazim Hakh, Managing Director of F&H Printing Establishment, and a dominoes fanatic, said that he is convinced that dominoes can be developed into a national calendar event if proper structures are put in place and the development of the game fostered.
To demonstrate this conviction F&H sponsored a competition of this nature last year and, after seeing the response vowed to make this a calendar event.
Negotiations are currently ongoing with other business entities in an attempt to make this year competition even bigger and better than last year, the release stated.
Last year’s competition budget amounted to three million dollars of which cash prizes amounted to 1.7 million dollars.
The competition is expected to attract teams from Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, including Timehri, West Bank Demerara, Mahaica/Mahaicony area, East Bank Essequibo, Essequibo Islands, Essequibo Coast, East Berbice, West Coast Berbice, Corentyne, including Canje and New Amsterdam, Bartica, Linden/Kwakwani, Madhia, Port Kaituma, Lethem and Mabaruma.
According to Hakh, like last year a corporations’ zone will be formed to encourage teams from private businesses, ministries and corporations to participate.
