Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday remanded a 22-year-old to prison after he appeared before her to answer to a charge of robbery under arms.
Quincy Nichols of Front Road Squatting Area, East La Penitence pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
The court was told that on September 19 at Freeman Street, Georgetown, Timothy Marshall, the virtual complainant, was sitting under a shed when the accused and an accomplice came up on a pedal cycle and robbed him of $73,000.
It was further alleged that one of the men then pulled out a knife and snatched the complainant’s chain and demanded other valuables. Bail was refused and Nichols was remanded to prison until October 11.
