PORT-OF-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, CMC- Zoe Swift found the nets five times as Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 17 women’s team trounced Grenada 10 goals to nothing in the final round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) World Cup qualifying here over the weekend.
Swift converted all her goals in the first half as the Trinidadians ran the Grenadians ragged at the Silvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince.
Chevonne John headed home two goals, while another two came from Corel Carmichael and one from the boot of Shanelle Arjoon.
“It was a good way for us to start the round. We took control of the match from the onset and we executed well. We took our chances and we ever allowed the opponent to stand a chance against us,” said head coach Marlon Charles.
“All in all I was satisfied with the performance but the tournament can get harder from here on”.
Trinidad and Tobago are attempting to book a place in the final CONCACAF round in Jamaica towards the 2014 FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
