HAMILTON, Bermuda, CMC — Out-of-contract Bermuda goalkeeper Freddy Hall has returned to the United Kingdom, where he previously played, hoping to resurrect his professional career.
Hall, 28, has been looking for a new club since being released by Toronto FC at the end of the last season after making seven appearances for the Major League Soccer side.
The Royal Gazette newspaper said Hall was open-minded about his next move. He endured a frustrating spell at English League Two club Northampton Town in 2011/12, making just three appearances for the club.
Paul Scope, Bermuda Hogges’ owner, who recommended Hall to Toronto, believes it is only a matter of time before the goalkeeper finds a new club, the Gazette said.
“Freddy’s looking to get his career back on track and has several options and is just waiting for an opportunity,” Scope said.
“We’ve been able to get his international clearance so he’s ready to go whenever the opportunity arises.
“We don’t have anything concrete yet, but he has several options in the UK, Scotland and maybe even Europe.”
