AHMEDABAD, India, CMC-Darren Sammy’s Sunrisers Hyderabad are out of the Champions League T20 currently under way in India.
Hyderabad’s game against Brisbane Heat, scheduled to be played at the Sardar Patel Stadium, was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The thunderstorm, which set in during the earlier match between the Titans and Trinidad & Tobago rendered the playing area unusable, eventually forced the match officials to call off the game.
Officials had no choice but to call off the game due to unrelenting rains and puddle formation in various parts of the ground.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who qualified for the main draw of the tournament by finishing among the top two teams in the Qualifiers, are therefore out of contention from progressing to the semi-finals, having lost two of their earlier three matches.
