The touring Bangladesh Under-19 team is expected to fly in early this morning ahead of their seven match One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies.
The Bangaldesh U19s will, however, kick off their tour with a practice match against Guyana this Saturday at the Georgetown Cricket Club, Bourda ground.
The team will engage in two days of practice sessions at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, before participating in the practice match against some of Guyana’s most talented U19 players such as Ronaldo Mohamed, Shawn Pereira, Herry Greene, Steven Sankar and Kemol Savory.
The warm-up game will then be followed by seven ODIs against the West Indies U19s.
The matches are scheduled to be played at Bourda, Everest Sports Club ground, Albion Sports Complex and the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
The Bangladesh team will be led by opening batsman, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, who also bowls off-break. Miraz will have as his deputy the team’s wicket-keeper, Jasim Uddin.
The team features lots of slow bowling options along with a mixture of left and right-handed seamers which should lead to a decent showing on the flat Guyanese surfaces. The team is expected to conduct training sessions today at the Providence National Stadium.
The team Manager is Ehsanul Hoque and the Head Coach Richard John McInnes, while Zafrul Ehsan is the Assistant Coach, Bayjedul Islam Khan, the team Physiotherapist and Tusher Kanti Howlader the team Fitness Trainer
