The Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Players Cup continues today at the Tucville Community Centre ground with a doubleheader.
The feature contest of the evening at 20:30hrs will see Northern Rangers FC opposing West Ruimveldt side BK Western Tigers in a group ‘D’ showdown.
Looking to rebound from their 1-4 defeat to Santos, Northern Rangers will rely on Omalli Nassy and Wendell St. Hill to power them to an upset victory when they engage the high powered offence of the Tigers led by the quartet of Randolph Wagner, Hubert Pedro, Stellon David and Gavin Wilson.
In an invited comment, Coach Calvin ‘Flu man’ Allen of the West Ruimveldt giants said: “I have great and tremendous respect for Northern Rangers coach Clifton Bobb. Whichever team he is in charge of is naturally a fit and competitive side.
“We are not going to leave anything to chance and we will try and put them on the back foot early. Our plan is to attack from the very first while so you can look out for a very attacking and aggressive style of play,” added Allen.
In the opening group ‘D’ fixture at 18:30hrs, Beacons FC led by the duo of Desmond Gotham and Josiah Charles will tackle Santos FC and their trio of Odel Williams, Glenorvan Edmonds and Lerone Charles in what promises to be a high scoring affair.
