Temperature

As a puppy is born, his temperature is the same as that of his mother.  Immediately afterwards, the temperature drops several degrees (how much depends upon the temperature of the room).  Within thirty minutes, if the puppy is dry and snuggled close to his dam, his temperature begins to climb back up and soon reaches 94 degrees F.  Twenty-four hours later, his rectal or core temperature is 95 to 97 degrees F and steadily increases until three weeks of age, when it becomes 98 to 100 degrees F.  A healthy puppy can maintain a temperature 10 to 12 degrees F above his surroundings.

I know that some persons would say that in Guyana (5o away from the equator) it is always warm.  That is
