WILLEMSTAD, Curacao, CMC – The coach of Trinidad and Tobago’s 400 metres hurdles World Champion Jehue Gordon has been selected as the 2013 Coach of the Year by the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC).
Gordon’s coach, Dr Ian Hypolite, was selected at the General Assembly of the 23rd Track and Field Coaches Association of NACAC in Curacao yesterday.
Dr Hypolite led the Trinidadian hurdler to win the gold in Moscow, Russia in August, his second global title after claiming the world junior title in Moncton, Canada in 2010.
The General Assembly of NACACTFCA also re-elected Victor Lopez of Puerto Rico as its president.
The other members elected to the Board of Directors to serve a four-year term are Wendell Prince of Curacao (First Vice President); Dianne Woodside of the Bahamas (Second Vice President) and Richard Mercado of the United States (Secretary).
Les Gramantik (Canada), Gleen Albertina (Bonaire), Jamil Justiniano (Puerto Rico) and Evelyn Farrell (Aruba) will serve as members.
The next Congress in 2014 will be held in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
