Enmore Community Centre Cricket Club (ECCCC) on Sunday scored a nine-wicket win over Mahaica Sports Club in a match of the inaugural ECCCC/Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, limited overs competition at the Enmore Community Centre ground to reach the
semi-finals of the inaugural competition.
Mahaica, batting first, scored 149-5 from their allotted 30 overs.
S. Mohan top scoring with 44 and S. Chamandath supporting with 33.
Satesh Jainarine, 2-11 and Deron Peters, 2-24 were the main wicket takers.
ECCCC responded with 153-1 with eight overs to spare with former national U15 batsman Javed Mohamed and Bheemraj Ramkellawan scoring half-centuries.
The two put on an opening stand of 130 in 17 overs.
Mohamed was not out on 66 with six fours while Ramkellawan scored 51, with 10 fours.
The winning team will receive $30,000 and trophy with the runners-up receiving $20,000 and a trophy.
There will also be individual awards for the Man-of-the-Match in the final, the most runs, the most wickets and the most catches in the competition.
