The Kashif and Shanghai Kings lost to Amelia’s Ward Jets 41-46 when the Trophy Stall Regulation Open basketball championship organized by the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) championship continued Saturday night at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard Court.
Shane Webster netted 15 points while his brother Allister Webster was fouled out in the dying moments of the game after he had contributed 10 points.
Guard Rodwell Pellew contributed eight points in the win.
For the Kashif and Shanghai Kings, Marvin Hartman scored the team-high 13 points.
In another encounter, Bankers Trust Falcons defeated Pistons 58-55.
Guard Leonard Caleb netted 14 points, Thornton Wilson 10 and Rule Daniels eight. Top scorers for the Pistons were Mark Louis with 12 and Dwight Cooper 10. Allister Bynoe chipped in with nine.
Kashif and Shanghai will hope to keep their chances of staying in the tournament alive when they take on the up coming Half Mile Bulls tonight in the lone game from 7.30pm at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard Court.
It is a game the Kings must win in an effort for them to have the opportunity of advancing to the semifinals and ultimately being in a position to defend their title.
