A carpenter was yesterday accused of stealing two heavy duty engine gears from BK International.
Charles Cox, of 19 Hogg Street, Albouystown, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where he was granted $50,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
It was alleged that on October 16, at Georgetown, Cox stole two heavy duty engine gears, valued $27,000 and $22,000, respectively, and which were the property of Brian Tiwari.
Prosecutor Bharrat Mangru did not object to bail being granted since Cox had never had any troubles with the law before.
After granting bail, the Chief Magistrate fixed Cox’s next court date for November 14, when the case will be called at Court 10 for report and fixtures.
