Monedderlust crushed Mahaicony All-Stars 5-1 in their semi-final matchup when action in the Starlight Generation Entertainment in collaboration with Monedderlust FC knockout football tournament continued on Saturday evening at the No.5 ground, West Coast Berbice.
Teron McDonald opened the scoring for Monedderlust with a 10th minute effort. The All-Stars would equalize in the 18th minute through a Cordell Johnson strike but from thereon it was all Monedderlust. They took the lead once again in the 21st minute from a Travis Henry effort and an own goal in the 27th minute doubled their lead.
Dwayne Gilford would add to the score line as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 41st minute. The result would be sealed as McDonald completed his double in the 80th minute.
In the second semi-final fixture, Rosignol United defeated Paradise Invaders by a 3-1 score line. Delroy Fraser bagged a brace on either side of half time in the 36th and 51st minutes while Cordell Taylor opened the scoring in the 12th minute.
Javel Fraser netted a consolation goal in the 62nd minute from the penalty spot.
