(Barbados Nation) CAVE SHEPHERD MAY BE GETTING a makeover, but the iconic Broad Street business is certainly not prepping itself for sale to any other company.
Peter Allan, chief executive officer of Duty Free Caribbean Holdings Ltd, the company that operates the Cave Shepherd retail stores as well as Colombian Emeralds and Harrisons, was responding to reports that the Broad Street store was preparing to be sold.
While dismissing the report, Allan explained that a number of changes were coming to the top floor of the Bridgetown building, part of which was rented from Trinidadian-owned ANSA McAL, which controlled the section that was connected to the Norman Centre building next door.
The Duty Free Caribbean top executive explained that in another three months the Ideal Restaurant and the Luggage and Linens department would be closed and relocated to another section of the store.
