The Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) will be holding its 3rd Annual Dilip Budhram Memorial Volleyball Competition on Sunday October 27 at the Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC) Court, Corentyne, Berbice.
The competition is sponsored by the family of the late Dilip Budhram, who was a sports enthusiast and had an active association with the BVA during the period 1998-2003.
According to a press release sent out by the BVA, the one day competition is open to all teams, clubs and schools in Berbice, and will feature top teams like PMTC 1 and 2, Albion Sports Club, Port Mourant Jaguars, Falcons of Canje, 3 Doors Strikers of D’Edward Village, Vikings of Blairmont and Rollers of New Amsterdam.
Up for grabs will be trophies and medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, while awards for the MVP, best spiker, best setter, best server, best defence, best blocker and best Libero, can also be won.
The BVA also plans to hold several competitions before the season ends – the Rollers Old Boys Champion of Champions Lien Trophy on November 9 and 10 at the Skeldon Back Centre, the Chattergoon Memorial Trophy Competition on November 17 at Albion, Balram Shane Memorial Competition on December 1 at Albion and the Reggie Goberdhan Memorial Lien Trophy Competition on December 8 at the 3 Doors Strikers Court in D’Edward Village, West Coast Berbice.
