Monedderlust FC were crowned the champions of the Starlight Generation Entertainment Berbice Cup Knockout Football tournament, defeating Rosignol United 2-1 at the No. 5 Community Centre ground on Saturday.
Dwain Gilford opened the scoring for Monedderlust with a 17th minute strike. Artley Bailer would double their lead as he found the back of the net in the 32nd minute. Curtis Moore netted a consolation strike for the losers in the 90th minute. In the third place fixture, Paradise Invaders defeated Mahaicony All-Stars 2-1 compliments of an Olvis Mitchell double in the 28th and 51st minutes. Eon Alleyne netted for the All-Stars with a 40th minute conversion.
