D’Edward opening batsman Lakeraj Sookra slammed the highest individual score of 93 to help his team defeat Shieldstown by eight-wickets as the 2013 Norman Singh Memorial second division 20-overs knockout competition continued recently in West Berbice.
Playing at D’Edward, the home team cruised to 141 for 2 in 15.2 overs after Sookra struck eight fours and nine
sixes in his knock of 93. He received support from Devendra Lalsa who made 21 not out. Earlier, Shieldstown posted 140 for 5 in 20 overs with Kumar Bridgelall crafting an unbeaten 66 while Heeralall Bridgelall chipped in with 31.

Bath also advanced to the third round after an easy six-wicket win over Rainbow Generation. Rainbow Generation were bowled out for 102 in 13.4 overs with Wayne Fraser 27 top scoring. Narvin Ramnauth picked up 2 for 15, Hardat Tarson 2 for 17 and Parmesh Ramjattan 2 for 26. Bath, in reply, skipped to 105 for 4 in 18.5 overs compliments of Ravi Gossai 53 not out and Wayne Fraser 2 for 10.
