Cabinet has given its no-objection to five contracts, three of which are for road rehabilitation and construction in Region Four to the tune of $143 million.
This is according to Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon, who made the announcement at his post-Cabinet press briefing on Wednesday, the Government Information Agency said.
The contracts in the public works sector are for road rehabilitation and construction of miscellaneous roads in Region Four in three lots. At Mon Repos, no objections were offered for works valued $72M; at Buxton Lowland and Dazzel Housing Scheme, for $46M and at Prospect, $25M.
In addition, in the agriculture sector, works valued $100M for the supply of eight mini excavators for the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority, also received no objection. Also, in the justice sector, no objections were offered for the printing of High Court rules and the revised Laws of Guyana to the tune of $48.5M.
