Gold Agri Suriname is the fourth Surinamese firm that has settled in Guyana in the past eight months. Ambassador Nisa Kurban was present at the opening of a gas plant in Corriverton, Guyana. The diplomat is happy that Surinamese increasingly move beyond the borders to invest. Gold Agri Guyana is a subsidiary of Nickerie-based Gold Agri Suriname.
Entrepreneur Djamoenapersad Roepram conducted a survey on the Guyanese market for the sale of oxygen, acetylene and propane produced in Nickerie. The survey proved that there is enough room on the market. Roepram knows he can be competitive in Guyana. With the opening of his new business the entrepreneur creates employment in the neighbouring country. Ambassador Kurban says she has been focusing on what neighbouring countries can mean for each other in the farming sector. She currently studies opportunities for the rice and coconut sectors. The Ambassador enjoys working in Guyana and praises the people for being so hospitable.
