Raymond Harper’s half-century guided Regal Masters to a five-run victory over the New York President’s XI yesterday in the first set of preliminary matches of the Guyana Softball Cup 111 which bowled off at several venues across the city.
Playing in the over 45 division at the Eve Leary ground, Regal posted 205 for 4 off their allotted 20 overs. Harper cracked 70 while Longsford Klass made 49. S. Rampersaud grabbed 2 for 34.
In reply, New York President’s XI scored 200-6 in 20 overs. Mohamed Rafeek stroked a 105 which was in vain, as Ryan Singh and Harper claimed two wickets each to wrap up a win.
