Bibi Baksh, who is currently hospitalised after she was hit by a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) minibus on Friday morning, is slowly recovering at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
The accident claimed the life of economist and bookshop owner Bholan Boodhoo, who was also hit by the bus while attempting to cross the JB Singh Road.
Stabroek News understands that Baksh, 55, of Stanley Place, Kitty, has been a patient of the High Dependency Unit (HDU) since yesterday morning, after she was admitted at GPH on Friday morning.
Police said she along with Boodhoo attempted to cross the JB Singh Public Road when driver of minibus bus BGG 4671 was proceeding north along the roadway allegedly at a fast rate and they were both hit.
Family members were yesterday tight-lipped about the extent of her injuries when they were contacted by this newspaper.
Baksh, according to reports, was on her routine morning walk. A date for her release from hospital is not yet certain.
