The inaugural Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Premier League continues today with eight encounters across four different venues.
The feature fixture of the day at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda will see the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) led by the trio of Delwyn Fraser, Eusi Phillips and Sherwin Caesar opposing Santos FC and their trident of Glenorvan Edmonds, Odel Williams and Jermain Fraser at 20:00hrs in a keenly anticipated matchup.
Denzil Thompson, coach of the GDF in an invited comment said “Preparation continues to be focused on a high level of endurance and technical training. My belief is that tactics can be easier to implement and learn with a team that has a higher endurance and technical ability.
“I trust and pray that my team would not make the same two critical errors like the last game. We don’t want to keep making the same mistakes and try not to let teams score first on us. On the offensive side, we have to make use of our opportunities” added Thompson.
Santos Coach Dwain Babb in an invited comment said “Right now things are tight and we are looking for points because we are very close to the relegation zone. I can’t complain, preparation has not been bad and we are expecting a win”.
