The selection committee of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) recently named a 24-man squad which will commence practicing and training ahead of the county’s preparation for the upcoming senior four-day Inter-County cricket competition.
After running of successful trial matches last week, practice and training sessions for the selected players are scheduled to commence today at the Cumberland ground in Canje.
The squad includes national Under-19 skipper Shawn Pereira, fast-bowler Keon Joseph, former West Indies Test spinner Devendra Bishoo, current West Indies U19 players left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai and opening batsman Shimron Hetmyer, West Indies ‘A’ batsman Assad Fudadin and a few of the ancient county’s notable cricketers.
Players selected for trials are: Krishnadat Ramoo, Shawn Pereira, Raun Johnson, Clinton Pestano, Keon Joseph, Romario Shepherd, Brendon Bess, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Anthony D’Andrade, Shimron Hetmyer, Kandasammy Surujnarine, Seon Hetmyer, Assad Fudadin, Jonathan Foo, Royston Crandon, Devon Clements, Rajiv Ivan, Eugene La Fleur, Kevin Ramdeen, Anthony Bramble, Jason Sinclair, Devendra Bishoo, Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai and Eon Hooper.
