Dason Joseph, 24, was yesterday placed on $10,000 bail and a bond to be on good behaviour after denying a charge that he assaulted his 17-year-old girlfriend.
According to Prosecutor Deniro Jones, on November 11th, Joseph, of 89 Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara, was spending time with his girlfriend, who is a minor, at her home. She received a call in Joseph’s presence and he subsequently accused her of having a man call her and he head-butted her. He then allegedly pushed her down the stairs.
His girlfriend, who also faced charges of assault, allegedly cuffed Joseph to his jaw.
Magistrate Ann McLennan placed Joseph on bail and a bond to be on good behaviour and ordered him to return to court on November 26th. His girlfriend was released on $3,000 bail and a bond to be on good behaviour. She is also to return to court on November 26th.
