A timely donation: The Parent Teacher-Association (PTA) of the Stella Maris Primary School yesterday handed over a brand new photocopying machine to the learning institution to assist with printing needs, particularly during test time. The PTA President Kirk Embrack told Stabroek News that the school did not have a photocopying machine for an extended period of time and was a high expense every end of term to print test papers, with the cost sometimes exceeding $130,000 per term. As a result, the PTA agreed on a fair and raffle to get funds to purchase the machine. Headmistress Myrna Kendall expressed appreciation to the PTA, for what she called a timely presentation.. She said she came to the school in September and already a lot of money has been spent on photocopying, even though the PTA usually offsets the photocopying expenses. In this photo, Embrack hands over the photocopying machine to the headmistress. Also in the photograph is the PTA treasurer and students.
