The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ruggers continued their sublime form on Sunday by winning the Flavor’s Fish shop Creole Food and Bar round robin Sevens tournament at the National Park.
The soldiers ended on the maximum nine points after winning all three of their encounters to walk away with the champion’s trophy, the fourth in four tournaments.
GDF’S captain, Cloyd Prowell was awarded the MVP award for his all round play and leadership of his charges.
The star studded Hornets team and the Caribs were locked on six points after winning two games each while the UG ruggers had three points. The under-19 rugby team ended in the cellar without a point.
In the female segment which was won by the Hornets team, Collete Hope was awarded the MVP trophy.
