Dear Editor,
It seems as if I have been hasty in switching my support from the PPP/C to the AFC.
With the blocking of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (Amendment) Bill by the opposition APNU and AFC this can only be seen as an attempt to get Guyana blacklisted.
This is clearly wilful sabotage of Guyana’s economic progress as the opposition knows that if Guyana gets blacklisted then money transfers between Guyana banks and the rest of the world would be affected. Hence, we would not be able to import and export goods and services which we rely on heavily to and from the rest of the world without facing bureaucratic impediments.
Such action by the APNU and AFC only leads me to reaffirm my support for the PPP/C who are doing an excellent job in managing the affairs of the Guyanese nation.
Yours faithfully,
Sean McLean
