The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) in celebration of its 48th anniversary will be hosting a seven-a-side Rugby competition today at its Camp Ayanganna Playfield. Games will be played under floodlights, the first ever such event.
According to a press release from the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), the ruggers of the GDF team are currently on a tear, having captured all the three sevens championships for 2013, defeating UG Wolves and Hornets RFC respectively with Caribs failing to make any of the finals. The women’s National Ruggers will be on show also as the GRFU continues to push for the development of Female Rugby.
