The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) seven-a-side rugby competition which was scheduled to kick off last night in celebration of its 48th anniversary at the Camp Ayanganna Playfield was postponed indefinitely due to inclement weather.
According to the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), the games which were to be played under floodlights, the first ever such event, will be played as soon as the weather is more favourable.
The ruggers of the GDF team are currently on a tear, having captured all three sevens championships for 2013, defeating UG Wolves and Hornets RFC and will be eager to take the field whenever the competition is staged.
