At about 1550h. today, police say Edgar Blackman, 19 years, of 9A Tucville, Georgetown, escaped from the ward at the GPHC where he was receiving medical treatment and was in police custody under guard pending investigations into robbery under arms.
During unsuccessful efforts to recapture him an armed police rank discharged rounds which damaged a window of the Hospital Complex, police say.
Investigations are in progress.
