A, Bangladesh, CMC – West Indies Under 19s thrashed Bangladesh Under 19s by 114 runs in their only warm-up 50 over fixture of their current tour at Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) on Tuesday.
The visitors posted 263 for five in their 50 overs on the strength of a 105 run opening stand between Shimron Hetmeyer and Jeremy Solozano.
Hetmeyer scored 56 off 75 balls while Solazano made 72 from 109 balls and top order batsmen Tristann Coleman made 42 and Brandon King 51.
Bangladesh left-arm spinner Rahatul Ferdous took two wickets for 61 runs from his 10 overs.
Bangladesh’s run chase suffered an early setback after they lost three wickets with only 21 runs on the board.
Wicket-keeper batsman Prosenjit Dash stroked 73 off 82 balls in an effort to revive the run chase but the home side failed to recover from the early damage and was bowled out in 38.2 overs for 149.
West Indies right-arm spinner Ramaal Lewis bagged three wickets while Jerome Jones took two.
The first match of the seven-game youth ODIs series will take place tomorrow.
Bangladesh Under 19s defeated West Indies Under 19s 4-3 in a seven game series in the Caribbean earlier this year.
