The Forbes Burnham Foundation will be hosting a commemorative symposium in honour of the life and works of the late President of South Africa and international anti-apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela today at 4.30pm at the Critchlow Labour College, Woolford Avenue.
A press release from the Foundation said that the speakers will be former Ambassador Ronald Austin who served in
Southern Africa during the period of the liberation struggle; Vincent Alexander, former chair of the Young Socialist Movement during the period of active support for the struggle in Southern Africa; and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashleigh Jackson who played a key role at the level of the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Commonwealth in furtherance of the struggle for liberation in South Africa.

The Foundation has dispatched a message expressing its condolences to the Mandela family, the African National Congress and to the President of South Africa.
