Due to heavy rainfall and flooding, the Guyana Equality Forum (GEF) cancelled its planned Walk for Equality, which was scheduled for Saturday.
In a brief statement, the GEF said the media will be duly informed of a new date for the Walk in early 2014.
The walk, planned to observe Human Rights Day, was to be hosted under the theme “Equal rights and justice for all Guyanese; no exceptions.”
The GEF was partnering in the event with Red Thread, the Guyana National Youth Council, the Guyana Girl Guides Association, the Guyana Entertainment Magazine (GEM) and the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD).
