A Diamond Housing Scheme mother and her two sons were arraigned on possession of 500 grammes of cannabis, for the purpose of trafficking yesterday, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Loraine Lamaison and her two sons, Ordell Monroe and Rawle Hetsberger appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty to answer a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking to which they pleaded not guilty.
It was the police’s case that on December 14, ranks from Diamond Police Station, acting on information, went to 1925 Diamond Housing Scheme, where Lamaison, Monroe and Hetsberger reside and found a black bag that contained suspected cannabis. The narcotics, according to a police report read by Police Prosecutor Shellon Daniels, were discovered in a middle room on the premises. Lamaison, Monroe and Hetsberger, (who was outside of the premises at the time of the bust) were told of the offence and arrested and charged.
The narcotics after being weighed and tested, proved to be 500 grammes of cannabis.
Subsequently, Magistrate McGusty remanded Lamaison and Monroe to prison, while Hetsberger was placed on $250,000 bail. The matter was adjourned until January 14, 2014.
