The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) is calling on persons to clear all outstanding balances or face disconnection for the Christmas season.
“Our disconnection crews will be active in your communities during this period,” the company said in a press release yesterday. It said that disconnected customers must clear their outstanding bills; pay a reconnection fee of $3,200 and pay an increased security deposit equivalent to six times the average of their monthly bill.
The company said that to avoid disconnection, persons can make payments at GPL’s commercial offices countrywide, Republic Bank, Bill Express, GBTI, the Guyana Post Office Corporation, Citizens Bank (Guy) Ltd, SurePay, Demerara Bank Ltd and Mobile Money.
