HAMILTON, New Zealand, CMC- Veteran middle order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has scored his 29th test century for West Indies on the second day of the third test against New Zealand at Seddon Park Hamilton here today.
Chanderpaul, who was 94 overnight, smashed a boundary to bring up his century as West Indies passed 300 runs in their first innings.
The Guyanese batsman dabbed a wide delivery from Tim Southee past gully and jumped in celebration before kissing the pitch.
He had shared in a record breaking 200 run partnership with Denish Ramdeen, who scored 107 to help revive the West Indies innings after the visitors had collapsed to 86 or five.
