Dear Editor,
On the 20th day of December, 2013, I went to a lawyer’s office to notarize a power of attorney. The original and one copy were notarized at a cost of $2,000.00 each and when I asked for a receipt, I was told in front of my clients that we would have to pay VAT for it. The charges of other Notary Publics are $500 to $1,000.00 for an original and copies, along with a receipt when asked for.
This was a rip-off and this lawyer’s licence needs to be revoked because of exploitation.
Yours faithfully,
Lolita Hicks
