High Court staff

High Court staff: About seven years ago Syeada Manbodh was asked by the High Court administrator to help them clean up the stray dogs/cats in and around their compound. Since then over 40 animals have been picked up and removed from the area. According to Manbodh, during those years she helped High Court employees, including lawyers and judges, spay their  female cats and dogs and rid their respective communities of unwanted animals. In return, she says, they have become more aware of cruelty to animals and many are speaking out against it.

Lulu and Pumpkin (seen in photo above) are the only two dogs allowed to remain in the High Court compound. Pumpkin, Manbodh says, has only three legs but doesn’t lack self esteem, and seems to think her main job is to make people smile. She says they usually do when they see her and her partner Lulu, especially now they are wearing their Christmas bandanas. They are looked after by the staff in the compound.
