Ganesh Parts and General Store last Friday donated two million dollars to the Doobay Medical Centre, a non-profit organisation, opened in 2011 to provide dialysis.
A release from the Medical Centre said that Adeetie Persaud of Ganesh Parts and General Store said that their management was embracing the spirit of Christmas and was pleased to give back to those in need in the community.
At the handing over of the cheque at the store located on Robb Street, Georgetown, the Doobay Medical Centre was praised for providing dialysis in accordance to international standards while maintaining affordable prices.
Persaud said, “The Centre provides ‘Christmas-like’ service all year round, they offer dialysis at very affordable prices and in some cases totally free of cost, and they provide for young or old, strong or weak, rich or poor, any race or religion.”
The Directors of the Doobay Medical Centre thanked Ganesh Parts and General Store for their recognition and support of the clinic’s efforts and said that the timely donation will aid in the expansion of the services provided by the Medical Centre.
“Generous donations like these allow us to expand and help people who are really in need and cannot afford,” said Vickram Oditt, CEO of the Doobay Medical Centre.
