Radio Guyana Inc (RGI) announcer, Oswald Singh, 55, died of a massive heart attack on Monday and will be buried today.
A post-mortem was performed on his body yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.
The veteran announcer had joined the media in 1985 after a few years of teaching at a high school.
He had also worked with Caribbean Media International, the National Communications Network and Radio Paramaribo.
Singh had survived a heart attack in July, 2013 and had since been under treatment.
“His sister and nephew came to visit him and he told me that they come to see him for the last time,” his wife, Susan told Stabroek News.
“No doubt we are missing him,” Susan said. She said that last Friday he had begun complaining of pains in his body but continued with his Christmas preparations. He was rushed to the Woodlands Hospital on Sunday where he died the following day. Singh leaves to mourn his wife and two daughters.
