Dear Editor,
It was with shock and horror that I learnt of Winston Jeeboo’s death on Saturday morning, shock because he was dead and horror at the manner in which he met his death. I have known Winston for nearly 20 years and the one word I would use to describe him would be “Family”. Winston was devoted to his family and everyone who knew him would agree with this. He worked long and hard to ensure that his mother and other family members were well taken care of in every way. For me personally Winston was there for many important moments, he drove my brother on his wedding day, he brought friends to my father’s funeral, he was someone you could count on to be there when you needed him and you could depend on him at all times.
I was compelled to write about Winston because I don’t want him to be remembered as “the Pegasus taxi driver who was killed and dumped in a pile of garbage” but as a decent, hardworking man devoted to his family and as someone who will be truly missed by all who knew him. RIP Winston.
Yours faithfully,
Susan Isaacs
